Riverbank Farm is a thirty-two year old certified organic vegetable and cut flower farm operating along the beautiful Shepaug river in Roxbury CT. We grow a full variety of seasonal vegetables sold at farmers markets, restaurants and natural food stores. We operate a farm commercial kitchen where we prepare vegetarian, dips, pestos, salads, lacto fermented foods and to sell at local farmers markets throughout the year. Each year, we hire a dedicated crew who enjoy learning how to run a successful small farm and share in the challenges and bounty of the farm season. Job description
The farm kitchen chef works forty hours a week making fresh vegetarian dips, salads and soups for the farmers markets and managing the all aspects of the farm kitchen. Other tasks include: lacto fermenting, inventory recording, communicating with farm crew, maintaining a clean and functional kitchen, and managing other kitchen workers. Previous culinary experience is required. We are looking for a motivated, individual who has experience with seasonal vegetarian cooking and wants to be part of our farm team. We have a wonderful crew on our farm and we all enjoy cooking and sharing meals throughout the season. This job starts in mid May and runs through Thanksgiving. Work is from Monday through Friday 8-4 with some Saturdays during the busy farm season.
