The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets Agriculture Development Division seeks a highly motivated individual to work as part of a team in support of Vermont agricultural, forest, and food businesses via the Working Lands Enterprise Initiative. As part of the Working Lands team, this position will be involved in the administration of the Working Lands grants program supporting Vermont farm, food, and forest businesses, including application, review, awarding, and monitoring of grants, in addition to engaging in agriculture and forest sector industry education and promotion activities. This position will play an instrumental role in assisting with the development and implementation of a comprehensive outreach and communication plan, including providing direct communication to applicants about the grant opportunity and generating reports to demonstrate economic impact on Vermont working lands businesses. Given the complex and nuanced nature of a program with a governing board, applicants for this position should be confident, able to manage a wide variety of technical tasks, and be able to take high-level direction.
This is an entry-level role into the Development Division and is suitable for candidates with a variety of backgrounds and experience. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree AND one (1) year or more of experience at or above a technical level in agriculture, marketing, environmental conversation, communications, land use planning or another relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of Lean White Belt training.
Experience assisting in the annualized management of grant and program funding.
Compensation
this position is: salaried, 50k-75k
