Job description
The Foundation developed the Food Learning Locator in 2017 (FLL)as an online map of more than 100 food-related education and job training programs offered throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. We created this site with the goal of facilitating collaboration between food-related education providers and to improve community participation and awareness of these programs. Since the program’s inception, the Foundation team has worked iteratively to build core site functionality and increase program provider and end-user accessibility and awareness of the tool. The Foundation is ready to transition oversight and management of the FLL to an external party and seeks a consultant who will workin partnership with the Foundation to lead a transition analysis and fully manage the site transition. The Foundation endeavors to commence work on this project by June/July 2021and to complete the transition by early 2022.Scope of ResponsibilitiesThis contractor position will support the FSI team by managing the maintenance and transition of the Food Learning Locator to a yet to be determined host organization. The consultant will also provide recommendations to the Foundation on the best method of support for the new host organization to ensure the ongoing management, usability and engagement of the site.The consultant should use existing FSI research, their knowledge of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and the food education space to:
- Develop transition scenarios of the site to a third party: In collaboration with the FSI team, the consultant will build upon existing research to identify multiple potential scenarios for the FLL migration including information about the potential host organization and their early-stage and ongoing needs for site hosting, including critical website updates, budget needs, ongoing website maintenance, staffing, etc.
- Identify and select an external organization to become the new FLL host: In collaboration with the FSI team, the Consultant will select the most feasible transition scenario and host organization.
- Manage the FLL transition to the new host organization: The consultant will act as the main liaison between Alley, the web development company responsible for FLL web development, the new host entity and the Foundation. The consultant will be responsible for all project management related to the transition and will provide regular updates to the FSI team about project progress.

this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
