About Us:
Fruition is a small batch bean to bar chocolate workshop located in the Catskill Mountains of New York. We're a small but rapidly growing company that has won several awards for our chocolate and confections both domestically and internationally. With meticulous attention to detail, we slowly roast and stone grind carefully selected cocoa beans to accentuate their inherent flavor. We take advantage of the bounty of New York's Hudson Valley, and collaborate with fruit growers, dairy farmers, bakers, distillers, and apiaries in our products.
About the Position:
We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and talented individual to assist with chocolate making and confectionery work, including roasting, sorting, winnowing, molding, creating filled chocolates, and pan coating. May occasionally help with packaging, special events, or sales.
Requirements:
- Pastry and baking experience a must
- Chocolate experience strongly preferred
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Quick to learn
- Stellar references
- Positive attitude and work ethic
- Sense of urgency
- Constantly working on improving his/her craft
Hourly rate depending on previous experience and expertise. Salaried opportunity may be available for the right individual. Room for career growth!
Work in the beautiful Hudson Valley in
Shokan, only 15 minutes from Kingston, Woodstock, and Phoenicia. Only 5 minutes from the
Ashokan Reservoir. Only 35 minutes from skiing/snowboarding. Less than an hour from the Culinary Institute of America, and just 2 hours from NYC!
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
