Job description
The Food Bank Coordinator works alongside the Warehouse Coordinators and the Food Bank Manager to run the day-to- day operations of the food bank and ensure that the needs of our food bank participants are met in a welcoming, safe, and respectful manner. The Coordinator will assist with the full range of FamilyWorks food programs including Food Bank distribution, Home Delivery, Student PowerPacks, and No Cook bag distribution. The Coordinator will also take part in piloting new programs to expand food bank access.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Facilitate an efficient and quality food distribution at both our Wallingford location and Greenwood location
- Assist in supervising and delegating volunteer tasks
- Receive and record vendor/donor deliveries
- Process incoming product, rotate stock and monitor inventory levels
- Assist with food sourcing to meet various dietary needs and expand our culturally specific food choices § Complete grocery rescue and other local pick-ups when needed
- Assist with data entry and monthly reports
- Attend staff meetings, conferences and other meetings as required.
- Respond to special circumstances presented by client/volunteers (walk-ins, special needs, referrals, conflicts, etc). § Maintain a clean, orderly facility that meets or exceeds sanitary and safety guidelines/regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS

- The ability to work independently and responsibly.
- Time management and organizational skills
- Capacity for directing and supporting volunteers.
- Satisfactory Driving record with no moving violations in past three years. § A minimum of one year professional driving experience preferred.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Will need to obtain a WA Food Worker card within four weeks after hire date. Certification fee will be paid by FamilyWorks.
- Willingness to proactively seek supervisory input, resources and information needed to accomplish job. Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to interact well with individuals of diverse socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds
- Demonstrates an understanding of issues related to food justice, hunger and poverty. Passion for the FamilyWorks’ mission.
- Represents FamilyWorks with professionalism, dignity and respect when interacting with customers, staff, volunteers and the community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position is funded in part by Disaster Recovery Program
- Need to be currently getting unemployment benefits, or have exhausted benefits provided you have not since returned to work.
- Males born in 1960 or beyond must have registered for Selective Service (federal requirement)
- Must live in King County
- Background check includes approval by TRAC Associates for enrollment in the Disaster Relief Dislocated Worker
Program before start of work
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and 3 years safe driving history required.

- Workplace is a warehouse-like setting, working extended periods on a cement floor.
- Involves significant physical exertion on an everyday basis, including heavy lifting (50 lbs. or more)
- Requires driving a van for local pick-ups and deliveries.
- A dynamic and fluid work environment requiring flexible thinking and decision making
- This position does not qualify for work from home
HOURS AND COMPENSATION:
30 hours per week, $18.50/hour
