Job description

The Challenge

  • Manage all mushroom production activities from substrate to sale

  • Maintain and troubleshoot the central grow facility and distributed farm units

  • Adapt existing operations and procedures to new facility and team

  • Oversee inventory planning and management. Manage orders and deliveries

  • Update Smallhold’s database and task log system in accordance with farming tasks

  • Manage warehouse operations. Receive deliveries ,organize storage and ensure others are following protocol


Qualifications

  • College degree in a relevant field or equivalent years of experience

  • Experience cultivating mushrooms

  • Experience troubleshooting electrical/mechanical systems

  • Spreadsheeting and data entry competency

  • Comfort with physical work and the erratic schedule of farming (this is not your typical 9-5)

  • Strong communication skills and preference for working in team environments

  • Physical requirements: must be able to lift 50 pounds and have a clean driver's license

  • Passion for local and sustainable food


Extras

  • Experience with commercial indoor farming and/or hydroponic farming

  • Experience working with microcontrollers

  • Experience with GAP, HACCP, and Organic practices

  • CDL or ability to drive large vehicles a plus

 

Compensation

this position is: salaried, less than 50k
