Job description

At INNA jam we make fresh, seasonal jams from organic fruit grown within 100 miles of our Emeryville kitchen. Our single-varietal and spicy pepper jams capture the vibrant, unique flavors of each fruit at its seasonal peak. INNA jams are made in small batches with great care to ensure the highest quality and craftsmanship of our jams. We've been growing very quickly, have received some great press both locally and nationally, and have recently completed construction of our own jam kitchen in Emeryville. We support organic agriculture, are passionate about sustainability and our local economy, and place great importance on the well-being of our environment, customers, community, and employees. 

We are crewing up for our jam production season and we're looking to fill several positions. We are looking for positive, friendly co-workers who are energetic, strong, and able to focus on detail-oriented, repetitive tasks for long periods of time. Applicants should be passionate about quality.

Prep Cook
• You will prepare fruit and jars for production and support the cooking and filling lines.
• Additional tasks include kitchen set-up and clean-up, labeling jars of jam and washing cooking pots.
• Work can be physically demanding, candidates will be required to work in a fast paced environment and be on their feet for extended periods of time.
• You must be able lift up to 50 lbs. 
• You understand the importance of working cleanly, efficiently and with a good sense of urgency.
• You possess a work ethic that seeks to exceed expectations and have the desire to learn and be able to receive constructive feedback.
• You work well with a team, are respectful of your co-workers, and are punctual and reliable.
• You are able to work at a fast pace while maintaining high quality of production.
• Shifts are Wed-Sat, 10 hr days (40 hours/week). 

Jam Cook
• You will cook jam - this requires focus, patience and great attention to detail over a long period of time. You should enjoy repetitive tasks.
• You will also assist in other aspects of production as needed.
• Work can be physically demanding, candidates will be required to work in a fast paced environment and be on their feet for extended periods of time.
• You must be able lift up to 50 lbs. 
• You understand the importance of working cleanly, efficiently and with a good sense of urgency.
• You possess a work ethic that seeks to exceed expectations and have the desire to learn and be able to receive constructive feedback.
• You work well with a team, are respectful of your co-workers, and are punctual and reliable.

Production Manager
• You will actively participate in the jam production process, manage the production crew, track inventory of supplies and assist with scheduling and production planning.
• Additional responsibilities include training crew and maintaining quality standards.
• You are resourceful, adaptable, and think quickly on your feet.
• You are self-motivated and have excellent verbal communication skills.
• Work can be physically demanding, candidates will be required to work in a fast paced environment and be on their feet for extended periods of time.
• You must be able lift up to 50 lbs.  You understand the importance of working cleanly, efficiently and with a good sense of urgency.
• You possess a work ethic that seeks to exceed expectations and have the desire to learn and be able to receive constructive feedback.
• You work well with a team, are respectful of your co-workers, and are punctual and reliable.
• You are able to work at a fast pace while maintaining high quality of production.

• Qualifications: At least 2 years of kitchen experience, production experience required.
• At least 2 years experience of managing a team of four or more people.

Jam Production Intern
Our internship program is 10 weeks long and suited for a student on summer break. There is a minimum one day per week commitment for the duration of the program. Interns will assist in jam production and will work with the range of jams that we make throughout the season.
