Job description
Shopping at the Greenmarket three/four days weekly for kitchen needs (anywhere from a few bunches of greens to 150+ lbs of ingredients); delivering food to High Line for off-site stand five days weekly; opening High Line stand for daily operations until relieved by manager; running errands for restaurant purchasing as needed and requested; receiving and overseeing proper storage of product delivered to restaurant; lots of other possibilities depending on strength and motivation of the individual. This is a seasonal job, through October only at present, with possibility of extension but no guarantee. Applicants MUST be passionate about farm-to-table sourcing; be comfortable bicycling in the city with heavy loads of food (two different bicycles will be in use); be physically fit enough to do this daily with probably two trips cross-town per day; be able to take direction, complete assigned tasks, and operate independently and reliably. This is NOT a job where you just get to browse the Greenmarket and buy cute lettuces. You will be in the thick of helping run a farm-to-table restaurant and expected to bust some ass.Compensation
