Videri Chocolate Factory is a friendly bean-to-bar chocolate factory and retail space located in the heart of downtown Raleigh, NC. We pride ourselves on treating our guests like dear old friends, striving for excellence in quality of product, and running our company in a socially responsible way.

Our chocolate making process is very hands-on.  We source beans from Central and South America, hand sort, roast and winnow each bag.  We make our chocolate in small batches, temper and hand-package each bar.  In addition to creating exceptional chocolate, we also strive to build a friendly, hardworking and creative environment.

Job description

For our open full-time chocolate maker, we are looking for a team member that will be hardworking, dedicated, organized and an excellent communicator. The ideal candidate would have an excellent sense of taste and smell, production experience and enjoy working both independently and in a team environment.  Additional bonus: grit factor - in our team we love a willingness to finish difficult jobs and push through the occasional tough shift or batch.  

Responsibilities for this job include: 

• Assisting in daily chocolate production
• Packaging finished chocolate for retail and wholesale orders 
• Sorting cocoa beans
• Prepping chocolate and batches for future dates
• Tempering and molding chocolate based on production calendar 
• Operating chocolate machinery (grinders, conches, tempering machine and wrapping machine)
• Recording and reporting production goals
• Documenting all chocolate made
• Documenting chocolate and ingredient transfers between departments
• Performing quality control throughout the chocolate-making process
• Building a comprehensive knowledge on chocolate making and chocolate education
• Maintaining a clean work environment
• Cleaning and maintaining all chocolate making machines
• Maintaining clean surfaces and floor
• Washing all dishes used during chocolate making process
• Upkeep all chocolate making equipment and environment

• Occasional weekend availability 
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs 
• Bonus: Experience in food production

Compensation

this position is: hourly, under $15/hr
