Job description

Pie Chicks, a wholesale production bakery on Martha’s Vineyard, is now hiring baking assistants for the 2019 summer season.  Commercial kitchen experience is a big plus, but not necessary.  Ideal candidates are self-starting, quick-learning, hard-working folks who can happily work in a hot, fast-paced, production environment with established recipes.  Must absolutely LOVE pie.

Duties include all phases of production including:  prepping fillings, making doughs (pastry & cookie), baking, packaging/labeling, delivery assistance, and cleaning of kitchen.

Requirements:  Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs., be comfortable working with heavy machinery (once trained), be able to be on feet for 8+ hours in a hot kitchen and be available to work weekends and holidays.  Additional requirement requested by our Kitchen Manager:  must be awesome.

Competitive wage commensurate with experience.  One full-time position to start June 1. Remaining positions start between June 1-15.  All positions ideally go through Labor Day.  Extended work may be available into Oct/Nov for the right candidate.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $10.00 - $15.00
