Company description

Our farm is a vibrant place providing hundreds of people in the Farmington River Valley with food and a connection to the land, and providing a home and livelihood for our family. We grow vegetables, small fruit, flowers and herbs, as well as cover crops using organic methods. We keep a small selection of heritage breed poultry, pigs and other farm animals. Many people visit the farm each season through their involvement in our Community Supported Agriculture Project (CSA). We work closely with area restaurants, providing them the finest, freshest organic produce available. We will also connect with members of the community through farmers markets and regular on-farm tours, presentations and workshops. All the while preserving the farm’s historical character and rural landscape.

Job description

Our certified organic farm sits on 300 acres along the Farmington River. We offer a 250 share csa program, sell to restaurants and at a retail farm shop.

We are hiring a farm crew member for Mid-April though the end of October with the opportunity for more work into November.  Farm crew are responsible for planting, weeding, harvesting and other basic farm work. We are looking for hard working flexible people who enjoy working outdoors and love being part of a team.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, under $15/hr
