Culinary Arts and Nutrition
Bastyr University, a private regionally accredited institution, is accepting applications for a full time core faculty position in the Department of Nutrition and Exercise Science in the School of Natural Health Arts and Sciences at its Kenmore (15 miles North of Seattle), Washington campus.
Duties: Instructional duties and responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate students in a variety of courses which may include culinary arts, food service management, nutrition, and/or food policy courses; offering a whole-food nutrition perspective within a natural health paradigm; contributing broad university service through student advising, committee work, scholarship and professional development.
Qualifications: Candidate must minimally have a master’s degree in Nutrition, Food Studies or related areas of study AND a culinary arts degree or successful completion of a culinary arts program with demonstrated excellence in teaching in both a classroom and teaching kitchen environment at the undergraduate and/or graduate level for a minimum of three (3) years. Preference may be given for candidates who are credentialed as RDNs, and for those with both classroom, demonstration and online experiences.
Hiring range: Preference will be given to candidates previously ranked as assistant or associate professor at a regionally accredited institution.
