Job description

Half-Marathon Pancake Breakfast: kitchen help and expediters: Sunday, March 18

New Amsterdam Market is continuing with its series of market events at the historic Thompson Warehouse in Lower Manhattan.  On Sunday, March 18 we are collaborating with the South Street Seaport Museum and the chefs from I8NY to host a pancake breakfast for runners in the New York City Half Marathon, which terminates at the South Street Seaport that morning.  We are implementing an innovative service system and are seeking volunteer expediters and kitchen help who have experience, are hospitable and comfortable with food handling, prepping, and serving, and are committed to or interested in local food systems.  Participation in this event will be an opening to future opportunities (including paid jobs) with our newly forming special events team.  Must be available in the morning of Sunday, March 18

About: New Amsterdam Market is a nonprofit organization. An economic development initiative founded in 2005. We support regional food systems, responsible sourcing, and the emerging economy of small businesses. We propose the Fulton Fish Market Tin Building and New Market Building --two landmarks of national significance-- be restored and dedicated as a new wholesale and retail market that will anchor the East River Esplanade as a premier destination for New Yorkers and visitors from around the world.
