Company description

Good Food Jobs is more than an online job search engine. We’re a community of people from all over the globe with diverse backgrounds and common goals. We have questions to ask, and stories to tell.

We at GFJ headquarters (Taylor and Dorothy) are constantly working to reflect the sense of community that has grown around GFJ since we launched the website and blog in 2010. We're working on an overhaul of our blog, the Gastrognomes, with these values in mind, and we hope you can help us.

Job description

Do you love to connect with people and give their stories a voice? Are you an exceptional interviewer, writer and/or photographer? We're looking for talented storytellers to help us transform the GFJ blog into a more dynamic platform, representing diverse food-related career paths across the USA (and beyond).

If you're interested in researching and interviewing people who work in food, we're looking for stories of people who:

  • represent diversity of ethnicity, age, and/or gender
  • represent geographical diversity within the USA and beyond
  • represent diversity of career type (the criteria that someone works in or with food is meant to be expansive, rather than narrowing)
  • represent diversity of career path (i.e. everyone from students and entry level workers to the founders of successful start-ups and larger companies)

Compensation will vary from $1,000 to $2,000 per finished blog feature, including photography (anywhere from 3 to 12 images) and writing (approximately 500 to 1,000 words). If your skills do not include photography, we'll contract separately for that, but if you happen to be a great writer and photographer, please include that in your application. Either way, we look forward to hearing from you!
