     FarmieMarket(TM) is an online farmers' market operating in Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga and Rensselaer Counties of Upstate New York.  We enable consumers to order food from the small farms most local to them, and have their orders delivered to their homes or workplaces. FarmieMarket has been fortunate to capture the attention of a broad audience of sustainable food advocates and entrepreneurs from all corners of the country.  With this attention have come many requests to spread our farm-to-front-step model.         

     This winter, FarmieMarket is accepting applications from local food leaders that are interested in helping to support small farms in a time- and cost-effecient marketing venue.  Opportunities are available throughout the United States, with particular emphasis on the Northeastern states of New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island and New Jersey. Targeted areas in New York State include the North Country, Hudson Valley, Long Island, Rochester and Buffalo.  Additionally, FarmieMarket is seeking qualified applicants to assume operations in Rensselaer County so our core personnel may focus on bringing the brand to new regions.       
     
     FarmieMarket  is a great opportunity for young professionals, stay-at-home parents, food bloggers, part-time farmers and real food advocates to start a profitable, home-based, part-time business with unlimited potential to grow. Applicants should be motivated, energetic, creative, highly organized entrepreneurs who work well on their own initiative and have the ability to multitask and wear multiple hats.

     Duties will include enrolling farmers in your market, uploading product inventories, managing site content, basic food photography, customer service, email and social media marketing, food quality control & assurance, outreach and media relations, basic recipe development, book keeping, sorting orders and making deliveries to customers homes. FarmieMarket will provide successful applicants with the training, web store infrastructure, server space, template contracts, and other materials needed to get up and running.

     Market operations will consume a total of approximately 20 hours per week during normal operations, with unlimited potential to grow into a larger business.  

Qualified applicants MUST have:
-     A strong interest and experience working in agriculture, food production, sustainability, or marketing
-     An interest in owning and growing their own long-term business
-     An ability to work independently and take initiative
-     Connections in your local farm community
-     A strong knowledge of the local foods landscape and resources in your community
-     Excellent communications and outreach skills
-     Excellent organizational skills
-     Excellent computer skills, including the ability to use the Internet, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
-     Graphic design skills, including ability to use Photoshop or a similar program.
-     A valid drivers license and a vehicle large enough to store several large coolers.
-     Home internet access  

Qualified applicants SHOULD also have:
-     Basic photography skills
-     An interest in cooking
