Chocolates and tomatoes farm is a certified organic farm in Montgomery County Maryland only 25 miles from the White House. We are excited to have two campuses this year, with a total of about 6 acres ready to go! We specialize in unique table crops and grew over 100 varieties in 2017. We thrive by embracing our community through farmers markets, our work with local restaurants, and our extensive work with Manna food bank. Each member of our team helps shape and craft our way forward as we seek to grow in knowledge and community reach and impact. We work in most of the cutting edge organic techniques such as high tunnels, mychrozzae, soil building, and whatever else we can find to make small scale organic farming profitable. We are searching for several dedicated individuals to help us expand our growing operation across two farms this year. I am sorry but we cannot offer housing at this time.

Job description

Chocolates and tomatoes farm is searching for dedicated individuals to help us through the busy upcoming season. We have positions available in the following areas:

1. produce processor: 20 hours a week plus. 7 or 730 am until finished several days a week. Processor works with all produce on the farm, washing, bundling, bagging, and doing all other tasks associated with preparing the produce for market, or restaurant sales. This job starts in january and will run throughout the year.
2. team member farm production: we are hiring for several team members to help us with all things on the production side of the farm. This will include, but is not limited to, seeding, planting, transplanting, soil amendment, harvesting, maintenance, and at least a thousand other things that need to happen on the farm. 20-30 hours a week
3. Production team member/market sales position: This position entails all of the things listed in the team member position, and also work with us at our offsite market in Olney(Sundays), and also our on site market in Brookville(Saturdays). 20-30 hours a week

Compensation

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $10.00 - $12.00
