Job description
Cloudview Farm offers a variety of on-farm experiences for student and community groups. We are seeking an educator who can both maintain our current offerings and develop Cloudview Farms’ programming. The educator will also help with garden operations. To give visitors a more authentic experience the Educator/ Market Gardener should be familiar with the gardens and animals.
Most visitors are preschool-3rd graders that come for 90-minute field trips and choose between a six plant part lesson and a plant life-cycle curriculum. In 2016, we offered summer day camps for the first time and hope to expand our camps and programming when school is not in session. We also collaborate with an elementary school on a door-to-door school fundraiser selling carrots. As new groups approach us with unique goals we innovate to meet their needs. Also in 2016, first time visitors included culinary students from and area technical high school, wheelchair-bound patients from a physical rehabilitation center, and a professional teacher training academy.
