Good Food Jobs is a gastro-job search tool, designed to link people looking for meaningful food work with the businesses that need their energy, enthusiasm, and intellect. We post opportunities with farmers and food artisans, policy makers and purveyors, retailers and restaurateurs, economists, ecologists, and more.
ON THE WEB
You thought we were yanking your chain, didn't you? All of that talk of a site re-design happening . . . and it's FINALLY here.
We are hard at work testing and playing and fixing as much as we possibly can. But every single computer and web browser behaves differently, so if you see ANY issues at all, LET US KNOW. And if you're REALLY looking for brownie points, you can even be sure to update your browser to its most current version before you give it a whirl. We are so appreciative.
Do you have a recommendation? Constructive criticism? Or have you noticed a glitch? Let us know. And stay tuned for more updates. We're always scheming.
NICE THINGS PEOPLE SAY
I just wanted to let you know, that the web-communications/mail order manager that I found through GFJ is KILLING IT for us this season - we could not have found a better person to grown/run this!
- Sergio, Job Poster
I've never encountered this level of care, attention, or appreciation and I really am just speechless and humbled.
- Sophie, GFJ Fan
We are so pleased to be of service.

We love the start of the year. Whether real or perceived, there seems to be a feeling of ACTION each January 2nd, following in the wake of that oh-so-lazy New Year's Day.
This year we are doing our part to keep things humming. In addition to an increased load of jobs postings, we have FINALLY launched our site re-design (we bet you thought we were kidding about that, hmmm?). Despite two months of thorough testing, we have come to terms with the fact that no amount of preparation can totally prevent the inevitable glitches when we migrate a development site to the live server. So we ask you for a little bit (or a lot) of patience, and open communication this week. Let's all take the NYC MTA approach and adopt the mantra, 'If you see something, SAY SOMETHING.'
Is something not working? WE WANT TO KNOW.
Does a new feature not make sense? TELL US WHY.
Are you missing something from the old site? LET US KNOW.
Do you have ideas for making the site even better? YES, PLEASE. You get the gist.
In the meantime, check out some of our newest features, including:
THE NEW HEADER SEARCH BAR
Now you can search by keyword AND zip code from any page on the site.
OUR CONSOLIDATED HEADER
When you scroll down, the header shrinks, allowing you more screen space to search for and/or post jobs, to enjoy the content of the site on even the smallest of computer screens, and maybe even (ahem) keep your job searching a little more incognito.
NEW SEARCH FUNCTIONS
Not only can you search by zip code, but you can also refine your search results from a snazzy new sidebar on the left side of the screen.
WORDS OF WISDOM
Each week we'll release a new 'words of wisdom' feature on our homepage. Stay tuned. And thanks to the great Kathryn Hansis for the original artwork.
Next week, as we work out even more of the kinks, we'll highlight some of the other additions / integrations to the site.
And that's not all! Stay tuned for the upcoming blog re-launch and newsletter re-design. We're bound to roll them out before the start of 2015 ;)
Cheers,
Taylor & Dorothy

Susan Evans
Program Director, American Food History Project
Smithsonian's National Museum of American History
A job like Susan's is one of the the most basic reasons that we created Good Food Jobs in the first place: to expand people's minds about what a job in food can be, for the one person who holds the job and for the many people who are affected by it. Susan's story is also about how her own mind was expanded at a young age, and it illustrates the true meaning of 'food culture'. Read More
