MOVE FORWARD... it's the only direction that we were given.
Although that's not entirely true. We can theoretically move backward. Or stand still (which, when surrounded by people moving forward, means that by default we are falling behind).
The thing we keep reminding ourselves is that there is no single way to proceed ahead. Often we find ourselves waiting and watching and hoping and weighing options. And while there is some value in these acts, there is a point where you reach a plateau. When you find yourself frozen into paralysis, when thinking becomes overthinking, it's time to proceed ahead. Move forward with something. There is no step too small, so long as you are moving in the right direction.
As we wrap up our 'Year of Re-Design' we've been plotting for 2015. One of our valued team members recently asked, 'What's 2015 the 'Year of?' Huh. Good question, Peter. Although we haven't pinned down the nomenclature, we're whittling away at our wish list and proceeding ahead with the projects that seem to matter most to us. We look forward to developing them and sharing them with you as 2015 arrives - faster than we thought, whether we like it or not.
But what about you? We ran into a friend this week who said, 'Alright, I need a job. The weekly newsletters are just not enough for me anymore.' We were glad to hear it. As always, our words are meant to be one form of support in crafting your livelihood. And it was a good reminder to us that you need to hear it more often: if you have yet to move forward, now is the time to do it.
Cheers,
Taylor & Dorothy

In case you missed it, we've unveiled our latest redesign: the new individual job view page is here! We hope your eyes will enjoy the increased legibility from the added contrast between text and background color. We also reformatted the page to make better use of the space, and included a more user-friendly navigation bar at the top where you can easily return to your search results, follow a job, or share it with friends. As always, design is an evolution. Let us know what you think, and if you see any glitches.
Stay tuned for our reformatted auto-emails coming up next.
our job search engine is a work in progress. do you have a recommendation? constructive criticism? or have you noticed a glitch? let us know. we're improving every day.
