Good Food Jobs is a job search tool designed to link people looking for meaningful food work with the businesses that need their energy, enthusiasm, and intellect. We post opportunities with farmers and food artisans, policy makers and purveyors, retailers and restaurateurs, economists, ecologists, and more.
NEW GFJ INSTAGRAM CHALLENGE
In order to celebrate our involvement in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History's American History Food Project Kitchen Cabinet, we're asking, what's in your kitchen cabinet? Snap a shot and tag it with #GFJkitchencabinet. The entry with the most likes circa 8 AM Tuesday July 8th gets a boost to their arsenal: the Franny's Favorites gift box from BKLYN Larder.

NICE THINGS PEOPLE SAY
I have been getting your newsletters for over a year, and they are an extreme inspiration. I am a proactive 17 year old, and I have known I want to work in the food movement for two years. Convincing my parents that I could have a successful life while following my dream path took a while, and your database of jobs was a great piece of evidence to show them. I would have gone my own way even without their permission, but having their support in amazing, and for that I give a big thanks to you.

Let us take this opportunity to wish Taylor's Mom, Margie, a very happy birthday. As you know, we love any excuse to eat cake, and to celebrate ordinary people that do extraordinary things. If GFJ was born out of a love of food, then Marge is the one that planted the seeds in Taylor's brain, early and often.
She is, indeed, a realist. So while she pulled out all of the stops for special occasion cookery, she had no problem talking about the hardships of coming up with a meal to put on the table every single evening. It's that honesty - in the excitement of the soaring highs and the drudgery of the monotonous lows - that allows us to easily acknowledge the same challenges as we get older. So when you see words of wisdom in our newsletter each week, just know that there's a little piece of Marge in each and every one.
LET'S CONNECT
While we love the ease and organization of online correspondence, nothing beats in-person interaction. Here are a few upcoming chances to connect with us in person:
- Taylor's attending the World Domination Summit in Portland, OR in mid-July. Are you in the Portland area? Let us know. We're planning a GFJ meet-up and would love for you to join us! (PS any food and beverage recommendations for Portland are greatly appreciated. We promise if you send us somewhere we'll Instagram our experiences so that you can live vicariously through them.)
- July 19th we'll be back on the east coast, and Taylor's teaching a seminar at the CT NOFA Summer Gathering. But even better, Joan Dye Gussow will be giving the keynote. She's not to be missed. (Psst: eager to attend, but don't have the cash flow to do so? Free scholarships and volunteer opportunities available).
And don't forget to check out the latest GFJ Instagram Challenge, in the left sidebar!
We sure do hope to see you soon.
Cheers,
Taylor & Dorothy

Mission Community Market
We have always had a major soft spot for food markets, be they a traditional farmers' market, a grocery, or a combination of the two. Aside from being jealous of Emily's gig, which allows her to work at a community food market every day, we're in awe of her perspective on customer service and entrepreneurship. Read More
