The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind. After hitting two countries in two weeks, Taylor finally has her feet planted back on Vermont soil. But even when traveling feels endless (and not in a good way) it serves as a reminder to 'get out there'. When you get comfortable in your home base, you can miss out on a lot of opportunities. Sometimes you need to be 'on the go' to meet some new folks, spark some new ideas, and have plenty to chew on the next time you sit in front of your computer - after all, it's a tool, not a toy, and best to use it to your advantage.
You can look forward to more travel stories next week. In the meantime, you can 'get out there' yourself and enter this month's Instagram Challenge. The July challenge is based on what you are growing in your garden - be it a full plot or a window sill. We're excited to see the first tomatoes on the vine, radish bulbs bulging from the soil, and sugar snap pea inching upward every day. What are you growing?
HOW TO ENTER
Upload your Instagram photo (you can share as many as you like) with @goodfoodjobs and the hashtag #growGFJ by 8am on Tuesday, July 23rd. The submission with the most likes on Instagram (psst! That means you should tell your friends!) will be published in our newsletter that day and on our home page at goodfoodjobs.com. The winner will receive a handmade picking basket from Kauffmann Mercantile, equally suited to harvesting in urban or rural settings.
We look forward to seeing what you're sprouting.
Happy Summer,
Taylor & Dorothy

the Brooklyn Kitchen
We knew the day would come when a gastrognome would crawl out of the woodwork and reveal that he or she had made the ultimate transition: from working for Oprah to working in food. The concept of a dream job gains new heights when a celebrity name (and in this case, the celebrity name) or organization comes after the job title. But Michelle proves that there is always room to be passionate about a new career. Read More
