SHOW YOUR ENTHUSIASM... this Sunday, September 21st.
We're heading to the People's Climate March in New York City (details below), and we hope that's you'll join us. There will (hopefully) be an enormous crowd - but thankfully it will be broken up into different constituent groups, all marching to raise awareness about issues in climate change.
We're walking with the Food Justice contingent, but meeting up as a smaller GFJ group before hand - to fuel up (on sustainably made, delicious goods) and to walk over to the massive crowd together (it helps to have familiar faces by your side).
If you are inclined to be a part of the event, let us know (we'll add you to our list to receive last-minute updates and/or additional details for the event).
While we love intimate gatherings, this is one scenario when there is strength in numbers, and a chance to magnify each individual voice as we all work - and walk - together. There are over 400 buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation coming to the event from across the country, so you can join others from your area as they come together to support the cause.
SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 21st - GFJ pre-Climate March Meet-Up
10 AM*
Grandaisy Bakery
176 W 72nd Street, New York, NY 10023
* the climate march starts at 11:30 AM, and they've asked us to assemble at 10:30 AM
We hope to see you there.
Your companions,
Taylor & Dorothy

details / The #gogastrognomes journey is our biggest and best instagram contest yet. For the past four years, the gastrognomes have been profiling inspiring and unlikely food professionals on our blog. Although the blog has been an integral part of connecting the Good Food Jobs community, the gnomes are always struggling with the question of how to connect to more people, both in person all around the world. As we all know, it’s easy to get stuck behind a computer screen... So the gnomes have decided its time to head out on the open road to meet the people that have contributed to the blog, and hopefully see some new, inspiring people and places. And they need your help to get there. Click here to learn more.
Last week the gnomes made it to Washington state, NYC, and Portland. Keep your eyes peeled - or be a part of - where they wind up next! We hear lore that there may be more than one rogue gnome comparing notes on how European food culture stacks up to stateside offerings.
And if you're looking for inspiration, check out our recently uploaded gnome Bucket List. They are looking for food adventures all over this great nation.
prize / A first, second and third prize will be given out based on creativity, effort, artistry and crowd response. To learn more, visit goodfoodjobs.com/gnomes.
deadline / TBD. The contest will be ongoing through the Fall, so keep your eyes peeled for gnomes and join the fun!
