DRAW YOUR OWN FRONTIER... erase boundaries.
Don't get us wrong. We love boundaries. We crave boundaries. We are the kind of folks that always tried to color in between the lines. Boundaries are safe. They give us structure. They provide guidance. There is a certain peace about them. And often they can give us a great starting point, or a solid stake in the ground.
So if you are starting a knitting project, by all means look up a pattern. And if you are using a new tool, it definitely helps to open the instruction booklet. If you are going to attempt to cook something new, there is no shame in finding inspiration in a recipe. And if you are looking for a job, browse the GFJ listings.
But please do not stop there. When we become too dependent on guidance we often find ourselves in the position of waiting for permission. And the truth is that if you are doing something new, nobody will even know what explicit permission to give.
Just remember that rules and guidelines are helpful to get you started, but once you get your bearings, draw your own frontier. Erase boundaries. The only one you need permission from to do so is yourself.
Your companions,
Taylor & Dorothy

We were working on some behind the scenes stuff this past week, but hopefully we squashed a few small bugs that were plaguing the system. In the meantime, look out for our newly designed job view page. We're wrapping up our year of redesign, and we have just that page and the auto emails to check off our list.
our job search engine is a work in progress. do you have a recommendation? constructive criticism? or have you noticed a glitch? let us know. we're improving every day.
