ASSUME THE BEST . . .
There are times in life when it's easy to feel like the world is against you. And sometimes there is just one subtle shift that can help lighten the load: make charitable assumptions. This idea is not a new one, but it is something that warrants revisiting.
Making charitable assumptions means giving people the benefit of the doubt. More often than not, people's intentions are not cruel, and we can more clearly address how their actions make us feel when we are not shrouded in a swath of hurt or frustration.
So just humor us. This week, when someone acts in a seemingly malevolent way, make a charitable assumption. Try replacing the negative thoughts in your head with positive ones. This might allow you to approach the situation with respect, trust, and perhaps an offer of help or support.
You never know what might happen. We might all just start working together.
Cheers,
