Job Description Gotham Greens is seeking passionate, driven and hardworking individuals to fill positions as Greenhouse Assistants for its Gowanus and Greenpoint Brooklyn and Jamaica, Queens facilities.

Greenhouse positions are hands-on and require individuals who enjoy rolling up their sleeves and are accustomed to manual labor intensive jobs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting in the Growth and Packing of leafy vegetables and tomatoes.
• Crop Handling: Seeding, Transplanting, and Harvesting.
• Cleaning and Sanitation of Greenhouse Floors and Channel Washing.
• Prior Green House Experience preferred but not required.
• Educational background in Agriculture, Hydroponics, or related fields a plus.
• Packing, labeling and boxing produce.
• Assisting in loading products onto U-boats/pallets and loading them onto our trucks.
• Assisting in in the loading and unloading of Greenhouse and Pack House supplies and materials.

 Essential Job Duties include the ability to do the following:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Open availability for work various work schedules including evenings and weekends.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Ability to stand for a full 8 hour shift.
• Must be comfortable working in summer heat conditions
• A willingness to work at all 3 NY Gotham Greens locations; Greenpoint Brooklyn, Gowanus Brooklyn, and Jamaica Queens.
• Must have a reliable form of transportations, train, bus, car, Etc.
• Must not be allergic to bees.
