LET'S CHAT: ANNOUNCING OUR NEW LIVE CHAT FEATURE!
Folks often ask us what our 'plans' are for Good Food Jobs. To which we often respond, "It's ever-evolving!" While we're always happy to share what we've observed over the past couple of years developing and launching the site, today we're excited to reveal a new feature that we've always planned on creating. Here's the history:
2010: The year of preparations
We came up with the concept, designed the site, and launched it! If you build it, they will come?
2011: The year of building community
Yes, they came! Now that the tool was in place, we wanted to gather the people. Over the course of the year, as we started hearing more feedback and insight, we realized that we wanted to use the site to share some of this great information.
2012: The year of hearing voices
The Good Food Jobs Fair was our first of many planned opportunities to hear what people have to say, en masse. In the spirit of connecting more people at once, we've constructed a new platform for interaction on goodfoodjobs.com: the Live Chat.
Note: Our sincere apologies to anyone who has clicked on the LIVE CHAT link at the bottom of the site in hopes of getting one-on-one technical help recently! If you've encountered a bug, or have a question, the best way to get in touch is always by sending us an email. We answer swiftly - promise!
Consider the LIVE CHAT to be an interactive version of our blog, where YOU ask the questions, and a regular rotation of experts in a food-related field provide the answers. For those of you who live for the weekly blog updates, here's your chance to get involved.
Our very first LIVE CHAT will take place this Thursday, April 5th, from Noon to 1PM, EST. Just in case we missed any bugs during the testing phase, we've volunteered ourselves to be the first interviewees. Soon you'll be able to fill your calendar with upcoming dates for a whole slew of interesting food folks that we've lined up to be interviewed. But in the meantime, if you've been too shy to write us individually, now's your chance to step up to the plate and ask us whatever job search questions are on your mind. It's all anonymous, so you can be sure to get impartial advice. And the best part is, all answers will be archived on goodfoodjobs.com, so readers can get the lowdown even if they missed the chat date.

Co-Founders, Good Food Jobs
THE GASTRO.GNOMES BLOG
Morgen Neagle
Farm Manager
Flying Pigs Farm
If Morgen's last name rings a bell, it's for good reason. Up until September 2010, his main claim to GFJ fame was being the older, wiser brother to Good Food Jobs co-founder Dorothy Neagle. Since then, he's catapulted to food fame in his own right, as Farm Manager at Flying Pigs Farm in Shushan, NY. Whether you watch him herding pigs upstate, or catch him at the Greenmarkets in NYC, you'll notice that he's amassed incredible expertise in 18 months, thanks in part to his experience growing up on a small farm in Kentucky. A landscape architect by trade, he switched paths from office to outdoor work when recession layoffs hit hard. We hate to say we're happy for that misfortune, but we can't complain to have someone as capable as Morgen 'on our team'. Read More
