Happy Spring,
Despite a new blanket of snow covering the ground outside Taylor's window, we're still celebrating Spring. In a lot of ways, the coming of Spring really resembles job searching - you'll see signs of hope in the form of exciting job postings, which can occassionally be thwarted by details like the fact that it is not in your geographic area, you don't have the listed requirements, or the position is already filled.
But don't be deterred - job searching is usually not linear, and there is certainly not one set path to finding your dream job. The best outcomes result from patience, persistence, and creativity - the same way your Spring garden turns to summer vegetables.
In the meantime, while the snow keeps falling, the wind keeps blowing, and the temperatures teeter back and forth, seek encouragement from your community - including us. We'll help you get through it, one weekly newsletter (or email - reach us at info@goodfoodjobs.com) at a time.

ANIMAL WELFARE APPROVED
TAKE THE SURVEY & YOU COULD WIN CHEESE

Participants who complete the survey by April 30th will be eligible to win a $100 gift certificate for AWA products, like grassfed beef and artisan cheeses. THE GASTRO.GNOMES BLOG
Katie Barrow
Public Relations Manager
Fair Trade USA
One question we often hear from job-seekers is whether it's worth applying to a job that you're not sure you're qualified for - for example, if you only meet some of the list of requirements on the job post, but not all of them. Katie makes the case for giving it a shot, and compensating for any missing credentials by being prepared to set yourself apart in the interview. Her fluency in Spanish is an example of a job skill that she could use to her advantage in an otherwise unfamiliar opportunity. As if her work isn't inspiring enough already, her story is equally moving. Read More
