Company description

Tivoli Mushrooms was started in 2018 by a chef who has since gathered a team of other former chefs, builders, creatives and an engineer who have come together to put our combined energies into cultivating the highest quality mushrooms. We are a diverse group of people brought together by the love of working with mushrooms. Together we built a mushroom farm in the Hudson River Valley that was specially designed for large scale mushroom farming. All of our production is in-house. We hands-on formulate, sterilize, pasteurize and inoculate all of our mushroom substrate and at capacity we will harvest over 10,000 lbs of mushrooms weekly.  

We forage for seasonally available local wild mushrooms, greens and berries. We have partnered with Foraged and Found Edibles in Seattle Washington, an established west coast wild food purveyor to bring in specialties from the Pacific NW year round. 

In addition to the farm in Hillsdale, we have an office + lab in Hudson, NY where we craft medicinal tinctures (GO Mushrooms) and an awesome sales team at our distribution center in the Pfizer Building in Brooklyn, NY.

Job description We are currently hiring for a part-time position, which can grow into a full-time position, as member of our Operations Team and Farmer's Market Crew based in Brooklyn, NY.  This position includes responsibilities on our delivery routes, in our warehouse, airport pick ups as well as farmer's market work. 

Our delivery routes involve driving a cargo van to restaurants and chefs in Brooklyn and Manhattan mostly. Some deliveries involve the use of a hand truck and some can be carried in by hand.


WAREHOUSE

• Pack orders for delivery, according to the training you will receive
• Double-check orders 
• Pack vans for delivery
• Participate in the maintenance of and cleaning of warehouse
• Help take inventory of product
• Notify management if the walk-in cooler, or any piece of equipment, needs attention

DRIVER

•  Safely and responsibly operate Tivoli vans
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness
• Properly handle product in route
• Complete all deliveries and dick-ups on route
• Accurately review invoiced items at each location
• Report customer feedback to management
• Report vehicle issues to management 
• Uphold DOT safety regulations

FARMER'S MARKET

• Assist in setting up and breaking down market set-up
• Operate the market stand with a pleasant demeanor
• Competently discuss mushrooms, cooking, farming and medicinal tinctures with customers (you will be trained on this)

This position includes approximately 28-30 hours per week.  The expected schedule is:

• Tuesday
• Wednesday
• Thursday
• Saturday (market)

• Proficient communicator

• Likes physical work, is able to lift 40-50 lb boxes
• Is interested in mushrooms and wild food
• Has a smartphone
• No moving violations in the last 18 months
• Is punctual
• is bilingual, English and Spanish

Starting wage is $25 per hour. Tivoli Mushrooms is a growing company with many opportunities for advancement with the right individual.
