Job descriptionPosition Summary
Looking to fill a leadership position in a unique dairy farm with unconventional feeding systems.
This position is responsible for the planning, coordination, and directing of personnel resources and facilities for the entire dairy operation, including calving, breeding, milking, nutrition, feeding, herd heath, and nutrient management. The right candidate will be hands on with an eager work ethic and have the drive to manage our growing business while being operationally sound.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and organize farm crew schedules, trainings and daily responsibilities.
- Maintain records, budgets and financial records.
- Initiate, establish, and foster communication and teamwork by maintaining a positive, cooperative, productive work atmosphere with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Be familiar and able to fill in with daily routines in all aspects of operations.
- Prepare written evaluations periodically for all employees.
- Maintain appearance of farm and personnel.
- Provide customer service with a very high level of diplomacy and professionalism.
Knowledge & Skills Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field and three years knowledge and experience in management of a farm operation or…
- Five plus years of knowledge and experience in management of a farm operation.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications including word-processing, spreadsheets, databases, on-line systems, Internet as well as online calendaring and email (Cattle Software knowledge a plus).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set own priorities to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time-sensitive deadlines.
- Proven supervisory skills with the ability to plan, implement, and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines
- Ability to plan, organize and schedule work.
- Ability to analyze situations, apply independent judgment, discretion and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough and creative solutions.
