Responsibilities:

  • MARKETING & ADVERTISING
  1. Plan and oversee all marketing and advertising strategies and budget for organization
  2. Develop strategies to bring new customers into store
  3. Develop strategies to cultivate customer retention and converting shoppers to member-owners
  4. Lead the development of new marketing & advertising vehicles in partnership with the GM and Membership & Marketing Committee
  5. Develop plans to measure the effectiveness of marketing & advertising programs, including changing course and optimizing the plan where appropriate
  6. Serve as brand steward for organization to ensure KCFC logo and branding are maintained appropriately across all touchpoints and materials
  • COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
  1. Manage all KCFC communications including email, direct mail, social media, website, et al. to ensure member-owners and customers come in store, to events, and are engaged in the development of KCFC.
  2. Facilitate new member-owner sign-up in-store
  3. Manage KCFC member-owner and customer database(s), fulfilling all operational needs to support store patronage, services, and marketing.
  4. Increase Co-op literacy among member-owners, customers, and wider community.
  5. Plan and coordinate Co-op events.
  6. Support the development of KCFC classes and programming to enrich the community.
  7. Build and maintain relationships with new groups and enduring community institutions.
  8. Represent KCFC at meetings, events, workshops to promote KCFC and the development of cooperatives as needed.
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE
  1. Promote positive customer experience in-store and throughout all KCFC communications.
  2. Work with in-store team to resolve customer service needs swiftly.
  • OWNER SERVICES
  1. Oversee the administration of donation and educational programs.
  2. Help facilitate all elections for member-owners.
  3. Support the GM in growing the services offered to customers in-store and digitally.
  4. Assist with planning for Annual Meeting.
  5. Contribute to KCFC newsletter regularly.
  • OTHER
  1. Perform other tasks assigned by General Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS

-Strong comprehension of marketing and advertising strategies, expertise in food or grocery a plus

- Familiarity with basic marketing technologies (CRM, Analytics, etc.).

- Intermediate graphic design and copywriting skill level.

-Familiarity with co-op principles and enthusiasm for goals of KCFC.

-Ability to project friendly, outgoing personality.

-Verbal communication skills: good listener, gives clear instructions.

-Demonstrated writing and editing skills.

-Experience in program coordination including events.

-Ability to handle multiple demands.

-Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.

- Ability to work autonomously and problem solve to find reasonable solutions.

-Local hire a plus.
