The Social Media Intern position will help to frame, coordinate and conduct social media outreach for the upcoming version of our contest. Visit us online at: www.nextbigsmallbrand.com

We are: Contest founders, The Rooster Design Group, an all-hands-on-deck team that loves good design, eating well, great playlists and the occasional unicorn.

You are: A feisty, curious up-and-comer who washes yourself in a pop culture bath each and every day. Your lifeblood is media; you'd be lost without it. You know how to build an audience by being a valued member of the community and offering smart relevant insight, not more noise. You might already have a fulltime job in another field... this could be your chance to break into the food world.

Responsibilities include:
• Working as an integral part of a team to develop an effective, outcome-based social media strategy and effort for the Next Big Small Brand Contest™

• Writing, editing and coordinating content for social media platforms and various project communications.      

• 8-12 posts (across selected social media platforms) weekly, some pithy, some which require deeper research / writing.

• Tracking metrics and evaluating contest specific social media outreach efforts.

• Optimizing click-throughs and growth of followers.

• Evaluating trends and best practices for new media and communications tools.

The Social Media Intern must have a practical understanding of marketing on Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms and -- ideally -- a track record of successful social media outreach.

Ideal candidate will have:

• BA and at least some practical experience with social media/online outreach/marketing/communications.

• Demonstrated skills in producing online outreach materials.

• Good verbal communication skills.

• Strong writing and editing skills.
