General Description
Oversee and personally manage all aspects of maintenance of Allagash Brewing Company’s existing plant, equipment and utilities.
Manage all physical plant additions and changes; including, but not limited to the modification, design, planning, organization and implementation of brewing, processing and high-speed packaging equipment.
This is a hands on position… you will be turning the wrench yourself!
Responsibilities

Provide engineering services and work with outside engineering firms.

Evaluate new process technologies.

Create and implement an evolving preventative maintenance program.

Supervise the maintenance team who are engaged in site services and preventative maintenance.

Spearhead the creation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) of new equipment.

Work with Brewmaster to specify and design process equipment and installation. Vendor and contractor management.

Contract administration.

Work with Controller to prepare and manage project budgets.

Responsible for water, steam, glycol (cooling) and electricity.
Necessary Characteristics and Experience

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree.

Minimum 5 years of industrial project engineering experience.

Experience in the food, dairy, or beverage/brewery industries is highly preferred.

Experience with process and related automation applications.

High pressure boiler certification and/or refrigeration certification a plus.

A practical understanding of sanitary design and construction methods is preferred.

Implement process instrumentation including PLC integration and programming.

Project management experience preferred.

General good business management skills and practices required.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Budget development and management.
-
Contract administration experience.

Ability to manage and motivate personnel as part of the team.

Excellent communication skills.

Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office (AutoCAD a plus)

basic piping system design

pump sizing

material handling methods

equipment, functional & installation specifications
Schedule and Compensation
-
General schedule: 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday

Flexibility required.

This is a salaried management position - pay range will depend upon qualifications and experience.
