Position

We are seeking a part-time Accounting Manager to help manage our growing bicoastal operations and keep our numbers running smoothly.  This role can be based out of either New York City or the San Francisco Bay Area. The role initially requires a 10 hour/week commitment with high potential to grow, and build our internal accounting team.


Responsibilities

  • Complete oversight over all bookkeeping & financial transactions; direct reporting to the COO;
  • Full-cycle bookkeeping, which includes day-to-day transactions for HQ & all sites and end-of-month and end-of-year bank/credit card reconciliations and preparation of reports for the accountants and the COO;
  • Track company performance against established budgets;
  • Hands-on management of all vendors, including but not limited to: onboarding vendors, maintaining positive vendor relationships, managing payables, allocating correctly;
  • Proactive A/R management: creating invoices, tracking aging receivables, following up for collection as needed, accepting payments, and allocating revenue by division;
  • Support with filing quarterly tax reports including, but not limited to, BoE, sales, and use tax reports;
  • Constant proactive oversight of the entire financial system with a keen eye for efficiency and improvement

Office Operations Responsibilities

  • Management of all financial HR functions, including but not limited to: running payroll and benefits administration;
  • Support smooth office operations by creating and maintaining processes, controlling correspondence, designing filing systems, and performing ad-hoc clerical functions, which are limited in nature;

Qualifications & Skills

  • Required: strong knowledge of Xero and other cloud-based accounting systems
  • Required: working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Required: at least 1-3 years of experience in full-charge bookkeeping, ideally in a startup environment
  • Preferred: experience in the food industry + experience in multi-division companies
  • Detail oriented with excellent record keeping and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in a group of diverse stakeholders in a dynamic environment
  • Energetic, proactive and highly motivated with a flexible and positive attitude
  • Team player with willingness to learn and operate new tasks, softwares, and systems
