Job description
The Farm Apprenticeship Training Program at Love Apple Farms integrates the rigors of traditional farming practices with modern organic and biodynamic values and sustainable, high-end farm to table standards. With unparalleled attention to detail and devotion to quality, owner Cynthia Sandberg has elevated Love Apple Farms from a small garden to a widely-renowned farm and agricultural education center. The Farms' tomato plant sale every spring has a devoted following of thousands of Californians, and the Farms' workshops attract a wide array of Bay Area agriculturalists, backyard gardeners and culinary devotees.
Love Apple Farms' exclusive relationship with two-Michelin Star restaurant, Manresa, has been the cornerstone on which we have built a unique, diversified farm model. Teamed with Chef David Kinch, Love Apple Farms has become a national example for high quality farm-to-table agriculture. Love Apple grows over 300 different cultivars of fruit, vegetables, herbs and edible flowers for the restaurant. As the farm expands, our educational program grows to include the ever-changing facets of this highly specialized system.
We offer farm apprenticeships to interested individuals who have a sincere interest in learning how to farm or garden. Many of our farm apprentices come from culinary backgrounds, and are interested in being able to grow vegetables for their own restaurant one day.
