Eden Village Camp is an innovative non-profit Jewish environmental overnight camp for 3rd – 11th graders, supporting campers in developing wilderness and leadership skills, harvest organic food and reimagining food systems, and awakening their sense of positive Jewish identity, purpose, and joy.
About the Position:We are currently interviewing for a multi-talented Assistant Director to join our full-time staff. Interested applicants should be inspired by the mission of Eden Village Camp and convinced in their potential to help make a vibrant, more sustainable world possible.
The Assistant Director works closely with the Director in overseeing Eden Village's entire operation, particularly including:
- business,
- financial models,
- human resources,
- budget management,
- purchasing, and
- staff supervision.
The Assistant Director also plays an important role in shaping the long term growth of our organization. Typically, Assistant Directors have backgrounds in management or business and camping or youth development.
The Assistant Director works closely with the Directors throughout the year to prepare for the summer season and the leads the financial oversight of the organization. The Assistant Director should be comfortable in diverse settings and with a variety of challenges; be a born problem-solver, organizer, and multi-tasker.
The Assistant Director must be able to inspire love and care within a vast team and exude the spirit of Eden Village to campers, parents, and visitors.
The position is based at our office at the camp site in Putnam Valley, NY (year-round housing may be available as part of a employment offer).
The Assistant Director must be excited to join a young non-profit and interested in growing with the organization over time
