Job Description Weygandt Selections Direct Wine Wholesaler seeks Sales Representative (Westchester/Lower Hudson Valley)

We are an established fast-growing importer/distributor seeking a motivated and wine knowledgeable person to sell our line of quality small-estate wines to restaurants and retailers. A position is currently open to serve accounts in Westchester and the Hudson Valley.  A good working knowledge and love of wine is a must. Successful candidates will also have excellent communication / interpersonal skills and are well organized; your networking savvy and knowledge of the area's restaurant and retail scene will be put to good use opening new accounts.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate has experience in sales within the wine industry and has strong established relationships with on and off premise accounts. Responsibilities include visiting key accounts in your assigned territory as well as promotions and special events. The position requires a self motivated, organized, energetic, creative and ambitious person.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an organized list of key accounts in the territory (both on- and off-premise accounts)
- Call on key accounts on an ongoing basis to present wines and assist in customer's ordering needs.
- Conduct staff training in on and off-premise accounts, as needed

Job Requirements:

- Must be resident of the Westchester area.
- Must have a minimum 2 years wine sales experience with an existing list of on/off premise accounts or relationships
- Knowledge of French, Austrian, and Italian Wine appellations and a passion for wine
- Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Creative presentation/public speaking and premium selling skills are a must
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Professional demeanor in working with coworkers, distributors, retail reps and consumers
- Must have valid driver's license and be able to transport promotional merchandise between accounts within assigned territory
- Comprehensive understanding of the US wine industry, its trends, products, competitive issues, etc.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint) or other contact management software. Must have a Blackberry or Smartphone.
- Completion of a higher education program
