Real Food Farm is currently seeking a full-time Americorps Field Manager to begin Fall 2011. The Field Manager is an opportunity for an individual interested in further developing their farming skills while engaging with community food security and social change. The Field Manager will assist the Farm Manager with the organization, coordination and implementation of daily work and food production activities at the farm.

Primary responsibilities include: implementing weekly planting schedule; managing insect and weed control, monitoring soil fertility, carrying out general field observation, managing youth and adult staff and volunteer labor; and staffing a weekly farmers market stand. Requirements include: agricultural experience & a strong interest in crop production and organic farming; experience and interest in working with volunteers & diverse populations; qualities of self-motivation, time management, flexibility and cooperation. High tunnel experience is desirable. The position will begin in September 2011 until August 2012. 40 hours per week Tuesdays-Saturdays.
