Postcard Communications is a San Francisco Bay Area-based boutique PR firm specializing in notable and up-and-coming food, beverage, and other hospitality clients.  We relish the opportunity to be working with some of the coolest and most inspiring thinkers and creators in the food, drink and travel space.  We have excellent relationships with the media spanning almost two decades, and we continue to build more.  We’re grammar geeks who work hard on good writing, yet we are not shy about picking up a phone to make a strong pitch.  While very team-oriented, we are also independent thinkers and self-starters.

We are seeking an experienced communications professional (3-5 years or equivalent) to lead accounts, create media strategies, manage clients, and forge new media relationships.

Qualifications:

• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Comfortable and effective at pitching the media via telephone and email
• Must be able to carefully listen and respond to client needs with attention, kindness, and ideas
• Deep and abiding interest in the food, beverage, and hospitality industries, the professionals that populate them, and the media the cover them
• Strategic thinker
• Creative
• Team player
• Must be able to lead and manage a small team
• Deadline-oriented
• Understanding and familiarity with key social media platforms (Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitter)
• Good follow-through
• Able to attend occasional evening and weekend events
• Able to travel domestically 2-4 times/year for 1-3 day stretches
• Ability to engage in crisis management as needed on behalf of clients
