Job description

We are a long standing Fort Greene restaurant operating as well as a major destination for niche, Farm-to Table Brooklyn Weddings. Looking now for a very detail & service oriented, hospitable leader to be the driving force on the floor during regular dinner/brunch service and our numerous weekly special events (Weddings, Showers, Birthdays, etc).

This position involves a collaboration with the Director of Operations, Chefs de Cuisine & Owner.

*** Floor
  • Maintain a safe, clean, nurturing, informative and no drama work environment to foster positive growth within the staff 
  • Be the face of the restaurant while upholding our standards of service and hospitality philosophy.
  • Be the food, beverage & house philosophy expert to ensure the guests carry out more than a memory of a good dinner when they leave
  • Encourage & maintain healthy communication with the front and back of house, to motivate, trouble shoot, correct & nurture every member of our service team
  • Deliver a flawless experience for each guests present at any private event
***Administrative
  • Hiring, Training & Scheduling FOH staff
  • FOH inventory & ordering- Social Media- Potential wine buying, and designing of seasonal cocktails and beer lists depending on prior experience
We run a very nurturing & sustainable business and will give all the tools that one needs to perform their job before anticipating a full autonomy, but we also expect strong independence and self-starting work ethic!

Applicants must possess:
  • 1+ year restaurant management (lead server, captain, etc is okay)
  • 2+ years NYC restaurant server & bartending experience
  • Ability to lift cases of wine & beer and move gracefully through a crowded room (not necessarily while holding the cases...)
  • Calm, controlled and warm sense of hospitality while under pressure
  • Experience & enjoyment managing private events such as weddings, rehearsal dinners and brunch showers
  • Natural leadership/teaching/communication skills & ability to read people
  • Strong food & wine knowledge (specifically farm to table and natural wine is a big plus!)
  • Desire to grow & be challenged
  • A NY city food handler's license
