Job description
We're seeking a Cookbook Editor to provide editorial and project management support to the company’s Culinary team with ongoing, quarterly cookbook projects.
The Cookbook Editor will work closely with, and coordinate between, all components of the Culinary team (Recipe, Copy, Photography, Design) to organize and assemble first-rate cookbook content.
About the role

Participate and contribute to preliminary, conceptual discussions

Set deadlines for content production, revision and completion

Organize, travel to and conduct in-person interviews with featured Blue Apron partners across the country

Coordinate between the Recipe, Copy and Photography teams as content is produced, revised and completed

Coordinate with and closely supervise the Graphic Designer

Master the Blue Apron Style Guide

Thoroughly read and edit each cookbook draft, ensuring that all content is of the highest possible quality and that all stylistic and design specifications are being rigorously adhered to

Coordinate with and closely supervise the freelance Proofreader

Coordinate with the Marketing team on PR, design of social media spreads and delivery and distribution of cookbooks
Qualifications

Knowledge of the publishing industry in managing/editorial contexts

Ability to apply publishing industry experience to Blue Apron’s unique projects, rapid turnaround times and stylistic specifications

Ability to coordinate between multiple, busy teams and departments working on different content streams and content types simultaneously

Top-notch office and organizational skills

Superior attention to detail

Ability to work independently

Demonstrated proofreading acumen

Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite

Enthusiasm about changing the way people eat for the better (Blue Apron’s mission) and teaching people about food and cooking
