Murray’s Cheese is the country’s leading specialty cheese retailer and a growing national brand, with a foundation in New York City and a quickly increasing presence in cities across America.Murray’s is a dynamic, fast-paced environment with an emphasis on great food, education and business building.
Our company is multi-faceted and rapidly expanding, with two retail locations in New York, a cheese-focused restaurant, a robust Wholesale department servicing chefs and restaurants nationwide, an events and education center, an E-Commerce platform, and a national retail partnership with Kroger supermarkets in 15 states and growing. As our company continues to grow, we’re looking to further establish the Murray’s brand, using our passion for cheese to tell our story nationwide.
In any position here, you need to love cheese. You need to want to talk about cheese at every cocktail party, be equally comfortable getting behind a really good chunk of Pepperjack and the smallest of small batch, artisan American experimentation, and enjoy frequent sampling. Food geeks welcome, but we’re not snobby about it. We just really love cheese.
As Marketing Manager, you’ll serve as one of the creative voices in the company, helping to spread our message in all areas of the business, and help drive awareness of Murray’s presence across this great, cheese-lovin’ country. As support for all of our departments, you’ll wear many hats, and should have background, experience and interest in project management, graphic design and branding, art direction and photography, media and press relations, and leadership and delegation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing all areas of Marketing and Creative department: creative, communications and PR, social media, events and branding
- Working closely with Murray’s department heads to support and execute individual business needs within overall company brand strategy
- Acting as primary liaison between Murray’s Cheese and external media and press, developing and building relationships with key influencers
- Developing and overseeing brand messaging in content/copy and graphics/design
- Coordinating and assisting with national and local food and community events
- Staying up-to-date on all areas of the cheese industry, and communicating to internal staff
- Overseeing creative team on day-to-day operations and acting as a creative, innovative leader in the Murray’s team
- Traveling to and supporting 150+ Murray’s locations across the country
