Who are we?

Get involved in an exciting and growing company and industry, Culinary Entertainment! Taste Buds Kitchen specializes in creative and unique cooking events for kids, families and adults. Our culinary adventures include an ever-growing variety of classes, parties, camps and private events that combine a well-balanced mix of engaging recipes, both savory and sweet, as we take to the kitchen to sprout taste buds and a good time. Events are hosted in our kids kitchen by day and our BYOB adult kitchen by night located in Chelsea NYC.

Who are you?

We are looking for an energetic, up-beat, go-get 'em General Manager with the skills and experience to manage the day-to-day operations of our kitchen.  You must be extremely organized and a natural leader.  This position reports to the COO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Human Resources - You will be responsible overseeing, hiring, training, managing, scheduling and developing the employee team
  • Operations - Ensure all company policies, systems and laws are followed.  Improve and stream line systems for efficiency.
  • Customer Service - Ensure all clients have a great experience
  • Marketing - Implement marketing campaigns. Provide feedback and ideas on current marketing strategies.   Maintain a positive social media presence.
  • Host Events - As needed you will host an event in the kitchen.
  • Quality Control - Ensure that all events, staff and facilities  are meeting Taste Buds Kitchen standards.
  • Finance - Track and meet monthly sales goals. Monitor employee hours, scheduling and payroll. Cost and spending management
  • Content - Develop new events and recipes and when needed improve existing content
  • Facility - Ensure that the kitchen is always kept to all branding and cleanliness standards

The Ideal Candidate

  • Great leader capable of recruiting and training staff as well as managing and maintaining a motivated team
  • Comfortable with a range of cooking techniques.  Formal culinary education or equivalent experience a plus.
  • Experience working with people of all ages
  • Experience working in an events business
  • 3-5 years Experience in a management position
  • Strong customer service skills Business or management degree a plus
  • Must enjoy the atmosphere of a small business

Availability

This is a full time position. We are available to run events 7 days a week 9am - 9pm.  The manager must have the flexibility and availability to work on select nights and weekends as needed to manage and train the team.
