Taste Buds Kitchen is looking for some rockstars to host our week night and weekend events! You must be able to entertain a room full of guests of all ages (children to adults) and have the level of food knowledge where you can whip up some pasta from scratch. If this sounds like you and you are looking to join an exciting culinary entertainment team then please read on!Type: Part-Time Compensation: $15-$20 and hour + tips when applicable
Schedule: We are currently looking for hosts for nights and weekends.
Note - Event length ranges from 2.5 - 3.5 hours and includes prep/clean-up
Commitment: Must commit to a minimum of 4 Event Time Blocks per week for a period of 6 months.

Our culinary adventures now include an ever-growing variety of classes, parties, camps and special events that combine a well-balanced mix of engaging recipes, both savory and sweet, as we take to the kitchen to sprout taste buds and a good time. We support kids, families and food and strive to create a lifestyle around connecting, learning and growing in the culinary playgroup of the kitchen.
Who Are You?
We are looking for an energetic, up-beat, go-get 'em Hosts who are will be as comfortable engaging and instructing kids ages 2+ as they are with adults and corporate event. Strong familiarity with the kitchen and cooking and baking skills required. This person will host, lead and teach our culinary entertainment events including workshops, birthday parties, field trips and most. Sometimes you will work solo, other times, you will lead a team for larger events. Must be able to manage this teaching team to make the event a success. The Kitchen will be yours to maintain - including ensuring that we are stocked and ready for all events - as well as maintaining our organized branded look.
Task at hand
- Creating an excellent and consistent client experience is our focus at TBK. You must be able to interact with with all clients (Parents, Children and Adult Guests) to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manage and supervise Instructors and Assistants
- Teach students about cooking skills, nutrition, and the science, math, environmental and social (including history and geography) contexts related to class recipes and ingredients.
- Create a controlled safe, clean, friendly environment for all students
- Kitchen cleaning, upkeep, maintenance and re-stocking.
The Ideal Candidate
- Must be friendly and outgoing - amplified speaking voice.
- Strong customer service skills
- Loves creating positive learning opportunities for groups of children and adults, and possess the energy to keep them excited and engaged in age-appropriate activities for periods of 1-3 hours.
- Ability to take initiative and accomplish tasks without direct supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively with co-teachers and management.
- Ability to control a room/class of 25+ students - both kids and adults.
- Must have strong time-management skills and able to prioritize tasks.
- Comfortable with a range of cooking techniques.
- Formal culinary education or equivalent experience a plus.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
