Job Description:
The Community Outreach Coordinator will work with the New Amsterdam Market Director to engage the local, citywide, and regional community both in the market itself and in the future development of the Fulton Market District.
Responsibilities will include:

Coordinating and executing outreach initiatives to various stakeholders and stakeholder groups in and around New York City.

Increasing engagement with market members and supporters. ยท

Helping conceive, plan, and support community engagement events such as panel discussions, town halls, fundraisers, etc.

Developing and staffing the New Amsterdam Market booth at each of its 2014 monthly markets and events.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidates share our passion for the adaptive reuse of the Fulton Market District and the development of a thriving public market, food hub, and public space. They would also have experience organizing and working with volunteers, familiarity with web and social media platforms, and be available on weekends to be present at the Market. This is the perfect opportunity for someone interested in the intersection of sustainable food, small businesses, civic engagement, and public space, concerns which have distinguished New Amsterdam Market since its inception in 2005. This position will initiate with a modest stipend. However it is the intention of the market to raise funds so that the position can evolve into a full or part-time paid staff role.
