 About the Cellars at Jasper Hill:
The Cellars at Jasper Hill (cellarsatjasperhill.com) is an innovative 22,000 square foot underground facility located in Greensboro, VT. The Cellars were constructed for the purpose of providing affinage, or aging expertise, as well as distribution and marketing services for local cheesemakers so that they may access the burgeoning market for their products nationwide.

About the Position:
Though our cheeses are well-represented in the New York marketplace, we often have call to participate in markets and events in and around the city. We are looking to hire a couple part-time staffers who can make themselves available to represent the Cellars at markets, events, and community gatherings as needed. Applicants should have a flexible schedule, especially during evenings and weekends. Markets are regularly scheduled, while events pop-up more randomly - workers sign up for any of these shifts in advance, on a first-come basis.

In order to provide background, training, and understanding of our mission, we will bring you up to Vermont for a weekend training session at the farm and Cellars after the completion of the hiring process. There may also be some opportunities to volunteer for special events up north from time to time.

Skills:

• An understanding of artisan sales and production (preferably cheese experience)
• Inventory and money management
• Cheese service and handling
• Customer relations and communication
• Awareness of food safety protocols
• The ability to lift a box of 40+ lbs.
• A desire to learn and be involved in the exciting world of American artisan cheese!
