About Us: Heritage Radio Network is a grassroots, action-oriented non-profit radio station focused on creating a food world that is more sustainable, equitable and delicious. Our network boasts 35+ entertaining and informative weekly food-focused programs, and a News division with a team of writers who produce stories in the following categories: Health, Pleasure, Science and Tech, News, Opinion and Business. In 2014, our editorial staff will focus on three areas of concern to us: The Chicken Industry, Food Waste, and The Future of Food Leadership. Our studio is located in the back of Roberta’s Pizza in Bushwick Brooklyn.
Position Overview: This is a full-time position Monday through Friday with some likely weekends and evenings for events, dinners and travel. The position will work very closely with the Executive Director, assisting her in all aspects of running the organization. This position is a new role that will be very demanding, require a diverse skill-set, in addition to high levels of energy and enthusiasm and the ability to work fast. It will require someone intellectually curious, charismatic, and ambitious. Our hosts are some of the most interesting people working in food today so the preferred candidate is someone who finds dynamic and varied personalities both stimulating and exciting.
Performance Expectations

Serve as the right hand person to the Executive Director who oversees all funding and content for the network.

Daily tasks that range from running errands, to writing press releases and managing many daily emails.

Works proactively to prevent problems and encourage cooperation toward achieving organizational goals.

Networking, attend events, follow-up, research

Assist with staff and office management

Assist with fundraising, connect with donors, follow up with members, identify potential supporters

Assist with host and guest outreach, we work with thousands of food, drink, and agriculture personalities.
