YC MEDIA SEEKS FULL-TIME JUNIOR PUBLICISTYC MEDIA (www.ycmedia.com) is a food-and-beverage focused public relations firm specializing in retail brands, culinary talent, cookbooks, and restaurants. We have worked with some of the biggest names in the food world (Julia Child, Jamie Oliver, Emeril Lagasse, Ferran Adria, Curtis Stone, the Voltaggio Brothers), as well as some of the most interesting brands in the marketplace (Southern Living cookbooks, Pie Face, Nudo, Calphalon and Taste #5). Services include: strategic communications, brand development, restaurant public relations, openings and consulting, media relations, crisis communications, media training, social media strategy & execution, special events, partnerships, and book tours.
About the Position: We are looking for a Junior Publicist with strong writing and communication skills, preferably with some public relations experience. Candidate should have a strong work ethic, as well as a passion for food and the restaurant industry. You will work closely with the Account Director of our restaurants division and her team to help plan and execute publicity campaigns, manage restaurant clients and openings, and daily account activity including media research, press material development, ongoing pitching, client management, and special events coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Write press materials including press releases, pitch letters, bios
- Research and organize internal media lists and press contacts
- Handle media requests
- Coordinate details for interviews, photo shoots and television segments
- Select pitching and media follow-up
- Manage press clippings
- Manage client media tracking, activity and creation of weekly press and status reports
- Daily use of Cision
- Basic office admin
