Four & Twenty Blackbirds Bakery & Coffee Shop currently has an opening for the following FULL TIME position:

Opening Baker & Pastry Prep

5am to 6am start, 8 hour shifts, you must be available Saturday/Sunday mornings (though you will not necessarily be scheduled all weekend mornings unless requested).

We will train you in the production of our current menu of seasonal muffins, scones, brioche, breads, savory items and other baked goods, with room for growth into your own menu items. All of our pastries and pies are made by hand, in house, on a daily basis.We are seeking bakers who are interested in creative collaboration on development of new menu items, have a strong work ethic and a desire to be part of young and growing company that is dedicated to a high quality product and a friendly work atmosphere.
 
Requirements:
  • positive attitude, strong work ethic with attention to cleanliness and organization
  • must have NYC food handlers certification, or be willing to acquire it immediately
  • at least 1 year professional kitchen experience in a pastry prep/cook role
  • ability to develop and test new recipes in keeping with our costs and seasonal menu of bakery, pastries and savory pies
