Job description

Pacific University seeks a 0.5 FTE staff position as a Farmer-Educator at the B-Street Permaculture site, a certified organic working farm and permaculture demonstration site. The Farmer-Educator will report to the Director of the Center for Civic Engagement, coordinate with the B-Street Advisory Group and the Faculty Director.  This position will begin immediately and run through June 2014 with the possibility of renewal at that point.  

The Farmer Educator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the B-Street farm. She/he will direct and work with one facilities employee and multiple student workers and volunteers.  She/he will be responsible for building relationships with community groups wishing to use the B-Street Facility, and for developing appropriate curriculum and overseeing visits. The Farmer-Educator will also work with the Admissions Events Coordinator so that the B-Street Children’s Garden can be incorporated into the campus visits and recruitment efforts for younger children.
