Job description

Tartine Bakery is a renowned bakery and café specializing in viennoiserie located in the Mission District of San Francisco. Owned and run by Chad Robertson and Elisabeth Prueitt, winners of the 2008 James Beard Award for Outstanding Pastry Chefs, Tartine is a fast paced, high intensity bakery with a large production and a multi faceted dynamic team. 

The position available is for a pastry cook/baker for our production team.
  • 2 years+ food experience
  • High volume or pastry experience preferred
  • Basic technique and knowledge of pastry 
  • Adaptability, ability to multitask
  • Respect for quality of ingredients
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs and stand on your feet
  • Neat, organized with good personal hygiene
  • Willing to work mornings (4:30am), weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work well with others, especially in a team and/or partnered environment and have open communication
  • Follow instruction, take direction and act quickly
  • Take initiative
  • Safety minded
  • Work well under pressure
  • CA Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certification is required
Compensation: Competitive hourly rates range depending on experience, health insurance options after 3 months full time employment
